Description:
The Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities (BMU) will be installing new advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) across all their electric meters.
The utility plans to use AMI to reduce the costs of reading meters and connecting and disconnecting customers while allowing the possibility of customized billing cycles, time of use rates and pre-pay option.
The installation will begin with a pilot program in November and December; the full rollout is anticipated for March or April 2020.
